Inside 103 Cannon Street

103 Cannon Street was constructed more than 150 years ago in the Neo-Byzantine architectural style. This design influence is most noticeable in the regimentally aligned, arched windows, which allow an abundance of natural light into the building.

On every floor, the suspended ceiling is curved where it meets each window, to echo the arched shape. The original timber sash windows have been restored, and secondary timber windows, faithful to the shape of the existing frames, have been installed to improve energy efficiency, without compromising appearance.

The glass panelled entrance hall, with triple height ceiling, and reflective surfaces is designed to create a light, bright, welcoming first impression. This modern, inviting atmosphere is replicated throughout the building with high quality, contemporary fixtures and fittings.

Secret Garden

Directly behind 103 Cannon Street lies St Swithin’s churchyard, a little known public garden, which has recently been renovated. The churchyard is all that remains of the medieval St Swithin’s church. The first church to stand on this site dated back to the 13th century, but was destroyed by the Great Fire of London in 1666. A new church was erected under the direction of Sir Christopher Wren, but sadly this was so badly damaged during World War Two it was pulled down, leaving only the churchyard walls intact. Today the churchyard provides a peaceful outdoor space for local office workers.
